Cantallini Pre-Christmas Concert – Saturday 23rd November 2019 7:30PM

Cantallini will present a pre-Christmas programme at St James’ Church, Islington. Repertoire will include Handel’s Messiah Part 1, pieces by Morten Laurisden, Giovanni Gabrieli, and others.

Handel’s Messiah is truly one of those unique pieces. However many times a singer has sung it, however many times a listener has listened to it, it can strike her or him with that total freshness, as the masterpiece heard as of the first time.

This time we are performing it in two parts, enabling us to do the whole without cuts and we are accompanied by period instruments, enabling you to hear the sounds as they would have been in the 1740’s.
