Cantallini and Viols in Concert – Saturday March 23rd 2019 7.30pm

This concert will be special for several different reasons.

We are performing a most unusual piece, “I am a Rose”, by our esteemed former conductor the late Tony Milledge, for voices organ and viols (which most of us only hear in early music) Other notable viol pieces will go with it
We are singing a very attractive mass by the 17th C Spanish composer Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla who took the beauty of European music to the people of the New World and combined it with their rhythms. A baroque guitarist is joining us!.

After a fine Bach motet we will conclude with a tribute to our much loved solo tenor Mike Hutchinson who sadly died in December 2018.

Cantallini will be joined by a special visiting Consort of Viols.
